Knee pain describes an irritation or pain in the knee that impacts daily life. The knees are among the most versatile and used joints in the body. Because of its continued use, it's likely to experience injury from wear and tear. If you've had knee pain, you understand that it can halt your regular activities, from performing daily tasks to playing sports. While there are various reasons for knee pain, it's common that the ligaments, muscles, and tendons can become damaged or torn. Cartilage can also be worn down as part of the degenerative arthritis process. If you've experienced pain and found you have limited mobility in your knee, reach out to our team at New Life Health. We'll get to the bottom of the pain so you can start enjoying life again.

Our recommendations for your knee pain depend on the cause and severity. Commonly, acute knee pain will heal with rest, ice, and strengthening movements. But chronic knee pain may require a comprehensive treatment plan. Once we address the source and severity of the pain, there are many options we can consider to help provide relief. A few treatments may include:

  • Anti-inflammatory injections
  • Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
  • Regenerative medicine
  • Orthotic bracing
  • Physical rehabilitation
  • Food as medicine

Yes!! I graduated today!!! Yaaay!! I have truly enjoyed going to this center for my treatments. Everybody there is so friendly and personable. I feel do much better than before. I was in so much pain and had stopped doing things I loved to do like walking and working out in my yard....or going places. The knee pain was getting worse and I really did not want to do a knee replacement. I am s glad I found this place before I went that route. Bri is rough on you but she encourages you to complete your stretches and exercises and Daniella and Xavier keeps you laughing which really took your mind off the pain. I will miss you all coming every Mondays and Wednesdays for 6 mos. Thank you all so much for everything!

I have truly enjoyed my experience at New Life Medical Center. it was rough getting started but the pain was almost unbearable when I first came here. I've learned a lot about my diet/nutrition...what to eat what not to eat and how to substitute some things from my diet to make a healthier meal. Also learning what stretches and exercises are right for my body especially my knees- they've gotten stronger and I've become somewhat more active in these past 3 mos.

I started New Life in May and have lost my goal weight of 30 Pounds!! Previously, I tried every diet out there, but I always quit and regained weight. I don’t feel like I am on a diet at all. I am not hungry. I eat more than I did before, trying vegetables and adding more meat. My husband eats like me and has lost weight too. We went on vacation to Hawaii, gained a few pounds but got right back on our New Life plan and lost those pounds and a few more! I had pain in my knees and legs before when I was heavier, and now- no more pain. New Life supports me when I need it and I am a fan for life. My friends comment on my weight loss and the smile I wear everyday. I feel like a new person and at Christmas when I drop even more weight, my husband is buying me a new wardrobe!!! If you have struggled to lose weight, go to New Life. Start a new day and a new life like I did. Deb W. Fountain Inn, SC

About Us
How does knee pain affect daily activities?

Knee pain can significantly limit mobility, making it difficult to perform routine tasks such as walking, climbing stairs, or even standing for long periods. The discomfort may also cause individuals to alter their gait, which can put extra stress on other joints like the hips and back. Additionally, knee pain can reduce the ability to engage in physical activities or exercises, impacting overall health and fitness. Over time, the lack of movement due to knee pain can also lead to muscle weakness and joint stiffness.

What are some common causes of knee pain during physical activities?

Knee pain during physical activities can be attributed to overuse, improper technique, or underlying conditions such as arthritis or patellar tendinitis. High-impact exercises, like running or jumping, put stress on the knee joint, which can lead to irritation of the tendons and ligaments. In some cases, muscle imbalances or weak muscles around the knee may increase the risk of injury during activity. It's essential to address these issues early to prevent long-term damage or chronic pain.

Can posture influence knee pain?

Yes, poor posture can significantly impact knee pain. When standing or sitting with incorrect alignment, undue stress is placed on the knees, which can lead to discomfort or injury over time. For instance, slouching or sitting with legs crossed for prolonged periods can strain the muscles and ligaments surrounding the knee joint. Improving posture while sitting and standing can help alleviate this pressure and support better knee function.
